At present, a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation based on artificial intelligence is poised to take off. The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, where HKSTP is located, is one of the most open and economically dynamic regions in China. The Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area promulgated in February 2019 pointed out that it is necessary to strengthen scientific and technological innovation cooperation and accelerate the construction of major scientific and technological infrastructure, and promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, so as to build a global innovation highland.

Dr. Huo Luming, Director of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Technology Platform and Precision Engineering of Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, is very excited that Xilinx has become a technical solution partner of AI PLUG. She said: “AI is a technology area that STP will focus on, and this technology can create more new opportunities for traditional industries. STP has been actively bringing together different stakeholders in the innovation and technology ecosystem, and we are honored to cooperate with Xilinx. , to provide leading AI solutions for different industries and academia, and promote the development and application of related technologies. It is believed that AI PLUG will bring new impetus to the research and development and cooperation of AI projects, and will bring new impetus to all walks of life in Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area and even internationally. Create more solutions.”

“The Hong Kong Science Park is an important innovation center in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Xilinx has been working closely with the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park Corporation for a long time to promote the Science Park with a powerful FPGA platform,” said Tang Xiaolei, Vice President of Sales, Greater China, Xilinx. The innovation and development of domestic enterprises. This time, Xilinx and the Science and Technology Park Company further expand cooperation on new technologies such as AI, robotics and cloud computing. We are very honored. We believe that with advanced adaptive technology and a series of training programs and With technical support, Xilinx will provide greater assistance to enterprises in the Hong Kong Science Park ecosystem, allowing more innovations to be implemented more quickly, thus contributing to the innovation and prosperity of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.”

In the exhibition area, Xilinx demonstrated two Xilinx AI IP-based solutions to many attendees: a multi-channel AI edge development platform and an AI-based 16-channel traffic monitoring solution. The multi-channel AI edge development platform uses the Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC ZCU104. The Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC provides 64-bit processor scalability while combining real-time control with hardware and software engines that support graphics, video, waveform and packet processing. Among them, the frequency codec (EV) device is designed with the concept of high-definition video and integrates the integrated H.264 / H.265 video codec, which can encode and decode up to 4Kx2K (60fps) video at the same time. Ideal for surveillance and other embedded vision applications.

Another AI-based 16-channel traffic monitoring solution uses the Xilinx Alveo U250 data center accelerator card, demonstrating Xilinx’s advanced neural network pruning technology. The Xilinx Deep Neural Network (xDNN) Engine is a programmable deep learning inference processor capable of running low-latency, energy-efficient inference on Xilinx Alveo accelerator cards, delivering 4,000 frames per second or GoogLeNet v1. The processing speed of more images and the high-performance processing effect of 25 fps per channel are very suitable for being widely used in intelligent transportation and other fields.

With the exponential growth of massive computing demands and the ubiquity of artificial intelligence technology in a wide range of applications, whether startups or Fortune 500 companies, or individual innovators, engineers and scientists are often limited by the performance of fixed chips. And Xilinx’s adaptable, adaptable computing technology is becoming the next-generation computing future that unlocks innovation. With the launch of Xilinx’s next-generation tool platform Vitis unified software platform last October, more and more developers, including software engineers and AI scientists, will benefit from the advantages of hardware flexibility. Xilinx hopes that by joining hands with Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, more entrepreneurs in the park can use the next-generation platform of Xilinx to accelerate the transformation of innovation achievements, and promote the comprehensive development of the smart world in Hong Kong and the entire Greater Bay Area.
