What Is Inconel 690
Inconel 690 (UNS N06690) nickel-based alloy has a chromium content of 27.0-31.0% and a nickel-based alloy with a nickel content of approximately 59%. Inconel 690 (UNS N06690) nickel-based alloy has excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion and intergranular stress The ability of corrosion cracking is mainly used for heat transfer tubes of steam generators in PWR nuclear power plants. |
Due to its high corrosion resistance to oxidizing acidic media, it can also be used to process nitric acid, nitric acid + hydrofluoric acid and other chemical equipment and components.
The materials for the heat transfer tubes of steam generators in PWR nuclear power plants have gone through a development process, including 304 austenitic stainless steel, 600 alloy, 800 alloy and 690 alloy. Research on corrosion failure of 600 alloy in service shows that intergranular corrosion and intergranular stress corrosion cracking are the main problems. Alloy 690 is used as a heat transfer tube material for steam generators in PWR nuclear power plants. Since it was put into use in the 1990s, no damage has been reported, and the effect is very good.
