Leaked iOS 14 code suggests that Apple is working on a Catalyst version of the Messages app, as reported by 9to5mac.
Since 2011, iMessage has gained several new features, including extensions, stickers, and message effects, among others. But Mac users don’t have access to all of these features, as macOS is still using the basic version of the Messages app, which can only send and receive standard messages.
However, leaked iOS 14 code indicates that Apple is developing a Catalyst version of the Messages app, which means that Apple intends to bring a full-featured version of the Messages app from iOS and iPadOS to macOS.
The Catalyst Messages app is expected to be included in the next version of macOS, which will also roll out to developers in June.
